A series of free-form organic-shape artworks on 12-by-12-inch (30-by-30-centimeter) square and 8-by-24-inch (20-by-60-centimeter) watercolor boards, featuring gold-leaf shapes and integral hand-cut matting. Intended for close viewing in intimate spaces, the works were small and finely detailed.
The planning considered canvas proportions in relation to nominal glass and mat-board sizes, and how the mat-board design could be integral to the experience as a whole. Thumbnail sketches outlined the basic concepts, some with notes.
