TV heaven

  • In 1981, cable TV arrived in Eugene, Oregon with 24 channels. It was heavenly for viewers accustomed to having only two local channels. The University of Oregon student newspaper article covering the story was so full of hyperbole and social profiling, my graphic had to show beer-drinking white male couch potatoes on cloud nine able to binge-watch the new programming 24 hours a day. The black in the clouds made the scene look a bit ominous and clunky, but the idea still got across.
