Race for the roses

  • In 1981, the University of Oregon football team had only a statistical chance of going to the Rose Bowl. Naturally, Duck fans were starving for statistics to fuel speculation, so the student newspaper's winter holiday season edition kept hope alive with this lengthy analysis of the PAC-10 teams. My two-color graphic complemented the article by sprawling the PAC-10 mascots across the page in order of their predicted liklihood of capturing a bowl of roses.
