These illustrations for a Landscape Architecture course reflected on a three-week trip through parts of Egypt with my father.

THE DESERT LANDSCAPE
THE NILE LANDSCAPE

Among other things, the illustrations pointed out how sharply the Nile cuts through the desert, where the line between life and death can seemingly be measured in grains of sand.

Conclusion: A good architecture is one that life can cling to. Otherwise, it's just a monument to the dead ... or a really neat pile of rocks.
