These illustrations for a Landscape Architecture course reflected on a three-week trip through parts of Egypt with my father.

Among other things, the illustrations pointed out how sharply the Nile cuts through the desert, where the line between life and death can seemingly be measured in grains of sand.

Views from the Great Pyramid TLDR - view south from half-way up; view southwest across to second pyramid at sunrise; view southeast from top 500ft down to people on the roadway; view south of Nile valley edge from the top.
Conclusion: A good architecture is one that life can cling to. Otherwise, it's just a monument to the dead ... or a really neat pile of rocks.
